FAQ

Firearm safety questions

What are the four universal firearm safety rules?

Treat every firearm as if it's loaded, never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire, and always be sure of your target and what's beyond it. These four rules are the foundation of every module we teach.

Is safe firearm storage required by California law?

Yes. California has specific safe storage and transport requirements, including when a firearm must be locked or disabled. We cover the current requirements as part of this module so you leave knowing exactly what's legally required at home and in your vehicle.

Do I need my own firearm to take this module?

No. Firearms and eye and ear protection are available for students who don't have their own. You're welcome to bring your own if you plan to carry it.

Is Firearm Safety Principles a standalone class or part of a larger course?

It's Module 01 of our full curriculum and is included in both the initial and renewal CCW courses. It can also be booked as a private, one-on-one session.
